Jana Johnson is a lifelong West Texan and proud graduate of Central High School and the University of Texas at Austin. After earning her law degree in just two years, she returned home to San Angelo to practice alongside her father, continuing a family tradition of service to the law and to the people of Tom Green County.

With more than 14 years of experience practicing across West Texas, Jana has managed thousands of cases involving criminal, family, probate, adoption, estate planning, real estate, contracts, construction, personal injury, and juvenile law. Her extensive courtroom experience—navigating diverse courts in multiple counties—has built her reputation as a fair, creative problem solver respected by clients, colleagues, and judges alike. This wide-ranging background uniquely qualifies her to serve as Judge of Tom Green County Court at Law No. 1.

Jana believes justice must be effective, fair, firm, and rooted in integrity. Guided by her respect for Justice Antonin Scalia, she is committed to upholding constitutional principles, ensuring that every person who appears before the court is treated with respect, impartiality, and given due process.

In addition to her legal career, Jana is a rancher and active community volunteer. She has served with Helping Hands, Back the Badge, the Young Lawyers Association, and the Tom Green County Bail Bond Board. She also helped organize King Pin for Kids, has been active in her Lake Nasworthy homeowner’s association, and is a member of Grace Christian Church. Jana is married and has two children. Her strong family ties, community involvement, and dedication to serving others ground her approach both inside and outside the courtroom.
